What has Nancy Peloci Accomplished?

Before or after becoming the speaker...what has she accomplished? she became the speaker by being in the right palce at the right time but what else has she done? This is not a rhetoric question. I really want to know how some in DC can be so moch powerful without accomplisshing anything others haven't. What have I missed about Nancy? Why not Charles Wrangler for example as the speaker, he seems much more personable, agreeable and intelligent and he has served in Vietnam.
