Is there a book that gets more butchered by Hollywood than the Count of Monte Cristo?

The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books ever. Yet, to date, I have yet to see a good movie made from it. All were okay, but they didn't follow the book well. In the book the revenge taken out on Dantes's enemies takes a long time to play out and is cleverly crafted. It covered everyone involved in his unfair incarceration. But the movies all shortened and watered down the plot to make it seem, well, not unique. Are there any movies that you have seen that butchered the book?
