About John Hammond in Juric Park?

I have kind of an odd question (lol) about John Hammond, the "creator" of Juric Park (old man with beard wearing all white). When he made Juric Park, was it his goal to just make money, or was it to show the world something amazing that hadn't ever been done before (such as making dinosaurs)? I think its the latter, because when he was talking at the dining place with everyone he stated "No, no, no, this park isn't ment to cater for only the super rich. EVERYONE in the world has the right to enjoy these animals." What do you guys think was his goal with Juric Park?
